Kelly Kolar | Kolar Design

Kelly is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati's College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning, where she has served as an adjunct professor, as well as past President of the College Alumni Board. Her work is included in the Ohio Arts Council collection and the permanent collection of the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo. She currently serves on the boards of the Contemporary Arts Center and The Cincinnati Arts & Technology Studios. In addition, she is very active in the Women's Business Enterprise National Council, Ohio River Valley board, as well as the WBENC National Forum Leadership Team as second vice chair for the Global team. Kelly’s career began by winning a design competition for the “look” for Cincinnati’s Bicentennial celebration where she was hired as the Design Director to build the Civic Brand. This became her last “job” and the City of Cincinnati became the first client as she opened the doors 28 years ago. Since then, she has grown the firm from solo-preneur to a sustainable business. Her current chapter is to build from success to succession and onward to significance as a legacy firm in the region.

Suzie Murdock | Motz Engineering

Suzie Murdock is a passionate advocate for mentoring and training talent and finding innovative ways to expand her firm’s knowledge and skills to improve the firm’s overall project processes. After earning her Bachelors in Chemical Engineering from Auburn University, Suzie immediately accepted a position with oil field giant Schlumberger in Texas and Louisiana. In 2015, when the oil market experienced an industry-wide slump, Suzie saw the opportunity to return home to Cincinnati and join Motz Engineering with her father. Under her leadership as President, she has since grown the firm by 6 people in 3 years, earned EDGE certification, became a certified City of Cincinnati WBE firm and is currently finalizing SBE status. Suzie’s faith in finding success through the path of least resistance has helped define her as both a leader and a person, and she looks forward to boldly leading Motz Engineering through next decades here in Cincinnati and beyond.
