    Meet the Panelists:

    Lauren Della Bella, SHP

    Lauren Della Bella, LEED AP, has been with SHP for more than 30 years. Since joining the firm as Director of Marketing, Lauren has blended her planning and marketing expertise and now serves as SHP’s president, the first woman to hold that position in the firm’s 100+ year history.

    With her entire career dedicated to the AEC industry, Lauren’s achievements on SHP’s behalf have been extensive. She spearheaded the development of SHP’s nationally-recognized engagement process, the firm's deep commitment to sustainability and most recently formation of the 9 Billion Schools movement and nonprofit institute for research and advocacy. She the co-author of the book 9 Billion Schools: Why the World Needs Personalized, Lifelong Learning for All and is frequently sought to speak at conferences and provide expert input for various publications and podcasts. Under her leadership, SHP has become viewed as an authority on learning across a lifetime, from early childhood education to workplace design and beyond.

    Andrew Berg, Messer Construction

    Andrew Berg, Operations Technology Solutions Vice President, began his career with Messer Consruction in 1991 as a co-op while studying for his bachelor’s degree in construction management from the University of Cincinnati. He earned his degree three years later in 1994. Andy is experienced in managing complex commercial construction projects including education, medical, office, and entertainment facilities. He has been involved with project management technology applications for more than 20 years and as a result leads the construction innovation team called Operations Technology Solutions.

    Andy’s charge is to apply advanced technology applications to improve Messer’s construction management processes. He develops and manages the company’s advanced capabilities and strategies for collaboratively utilizing Building Information Modeling on projects. Andy’s expertise is sought by owners to develop strategies, leverage building information from design and construction and improve the facility lifecycle management.

    Moderated by:

    Melissa Lutz, FSMPS, CPSM is responsible for the brand and image of Champlin Architecture. Melissa manages and develops targeted business development and marketing strategies with each niche team to create unique opportunities for the firm. Using her skills as a Community Liaison, she also serves as a team member on various public projects.

    Melissa is also an active and current member of the Society for Marketing Professional Services and is currently serving nationally as President-Elect of SMPS. Melissa was one of the Researchers and Authors for the SMPS Foundation’s recently-published book, A/E/C Business Development – The Decade Ahead.
